REACHING OUT

SOAP is reaching out to the orphan children of Uganda with the Gospel and was organized for the purpose of providing a "living tool" to evangelize Uganda through church planting. Our heart's desire is to see one of Uganda's greatest and most overlooked living resources, orphans, transformed into servants of God. They are becoming effective ministers to their own people reaching the unreached masses in Uganda and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more information about the ministry of SOAP or how you can be involved, please contact us.

OUR PROJECT

The Soroti Orphan Assistance Project (SOAP) is a facet of Baptist International Mission of Uganda (BIMU) with the unique purpose of ministering to orphans. Serving under the umbrella of the USA-based worldwide missions agency, Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI), each SOAP missionary is sent under the authority of a stateside independent Baptist church to reach Uganda with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

SOAP reaches out to the orphan children of Uganda with the Gospel and then trains them to become effective ministers to their own people. In order to do this great task, SOAP accepts into its care and custody, children who are double orphans (having lost both father and mother). We become their parental caregivers and provide for their physical needs along with godly nurturing and training for spiritual development.

OUR HISTORY

When the first BIMI missionaries came to Soroti, they were given 18 acres of land by the town to be used in the establishment of a church, an orphanage, and a school. The site currently has four permanent buildings which house the students, provide classrooms for the Independent Baptist Institute, the Independent Baptist School, and a meeting place for the Independent Baptist Church of Soroti.

God has chose to be glorified by doing His work through the weak and the least of society (1 Corinthians 1:27-29). One can only imagine the spiritual potential of these orphans whom we work. We have a vision of a vast army of pastors, missionaries, and faithful, active church members. Through these orphans, the unreached masses of Uganda and beyond will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To God be the glory!

OUR PARTNERS

When the first BIMI missionaries came to Soroti, they were given 18 acres of land by the town to be used in the establishment of a church, an orphanage, and a school. The site currently has four permanent buildings which house the students, provide classrooms for the Independent Baptist Institute, the Independent Baptist School, and a meeting place for the Independent Baptist Church of Soroti.

The greatest way that anyone partners with SOAP is through effectual, fervent prayer. It is a spiritual battle and Satan desperately wants to destroy this work of God. Your earnest prayers are a vital part in fulfilling God’s wonderful plan for these children.

Many who have prayed faithfully for SOAP have been led by God to partner with this ministry financially as well. As the orphans grow, and as new orphans are added to the SOAP family, the cost of providing their needs increases as well. This includes food, clothes, shelter, education, medicine, and other related needs. As God lays it upon the hearts of people to financially support this ministry, funds may be send to the following address:
